was founded in 1947 and promotes interest in
history, particularly the history of Angus,
Fife and Perthshire.
Friends
of Dundee City Archive
The Friends of Dundee
City Archives is an organisation, established
in 1989, which supports the work of the Archivists
in Dundee. This SCAN-hosted website includes
a database of Wesleyan Baptisms, Dundee 1785-1898,
as well as 'The Howff File' - an index to 80,000
records of individuals buried at 'The Howff'
- Dundee's City Cemetery.
Scottish
Records Association
The SRA is a forum, where
users, owners and custodians of records can
discuss matters relating to their custody, conservation
and accessibility. The SRA's website provides
details of its conferences and other events
and publications.
Stair
Society
The Stair Society was
founded in 1934 to encourage the study and advance
the knowledge of Scots Law by the publication
of original documents and by the reprinting
and editing of works of sufficient rarity or
importance. This SCAN-hosted website includes
digital images of two volumes of early Scottish
Parliamentary material which are held by the
National Archives of Scotland (NAS). The 13th
century Berne MS (PA5/1) and the 14th century
Ayr Manuscript (reference PA5/2) are two of
the earliest surviving manuscripts of the 'auld'
laws of Scotland.
