The Edible archive


As part of the Archives Awareness Campaign 2011 , the Scottish Council on Archives (SCA) is embarking on a gastronomic adventure.

The food we eat is a reflection of who we are, where we've been, and where we live. The recipes we keep and use reveal aspects of our family and national history and culture. With your help, we aim to compile a collection of recipes spanning several centuries, ranging from the familiar to the bizarre.

On the SCA website you can download recipes from the past from different parts of Scotland.

On Saturday 26 November 2011 there will be an Edible Archive event in Edinburgh, with cookery demonstrations, workshops and speakers.
