Historical records of sheriff courts pass
to the National Archives of Scotland. For further details go to

Tracing Your Scottish Ancestors (HMSO, 1990). The following
sheriff courts operated in Berwickshire: Duns
JP court records
Justice of the Peace records for Berwickshire
are held by the National Archives of Scotland.
Register of sasines and sasine abridgements
Registers of sasines for the County of Berwick
are held by the National Archives of Scotland (RS.18-19). Sasine
abridgements for the county of Berwick, 1781-1979, are held by the
National Archives of Scotland.
