LOCATION OF RECORDS

County Council Records
The records of Aberdeen County Council and its predecessors are held by Aberdeenshire Council Archives.

County Constabulary records
The surviving administrative records, with the exception of personnel records, of Aberdeen County Constabulary have been deposited with Aberdeen City Archives.

Valuation Rolls
Assessors’ rolls for Aberdeen County for the period 1855 to 1989 are held by the National Archives of Scotland. Copies of the valuation rolls for Aberdeen County from 1859/60 to 1989 (complete from 1879/80 only) are held by Aberdeen City Archives. The valuation rolls do not include the burghs of Inverurie, Peterhead and Kintore before 1930/31. Separate assessment rolls for the burgh of Inverurie from 1855/56 to 1877/78 are held by Aberdeenshire Council Archives. Aberdeen City Libraries hold an incomplete series of valuation rolls for Aberdeen County.

Medical Officer of Health Reports
Annual reports of the Medical Officer of Health for the County of Aberdeen are held, for the period 1891-1958, by the National Archives of Scotland and by Northern Health Services Archives. Aberdeenshire Council Archives holds an incomplete set of reports from 1925 to 1958. No reports were published after 1958 for Aberdeen County.

Vehicle Licensing records
